<p>Kassai Capital, an asset management company headquartered in Angola, has strengthened its presence in the venture capital sector with the launch of the Alpha 1 fund, formally approved this Wednesday by the Angolan Capital Markets Commission (CMC).</p><p>The company, established by Gemcorp Capital in 2024, is thereby expanding its portfolio of investment vehicles, which already includes Fénix, a closed-end private equity fund through which it acquired a 70% stake in Banco de Negócios Internacional (BNI), and Kassai Curto Prazo, an open-ended special investment fund in securities (FEIVMA) launched in November 2025 with an initial value of Kz 19 billion.</p><p>“With the approval of Alpha 1, we will once again invest in innovative projects that will make a meaningful contribution to the development of our market,” stated Walter Pacheco, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Kassai Capital, in a social media post.</p><p>Regarding the regulatory approval, Kassai emphasised that the new vehicle strengthens its structured presence in the venture capital segment, consolidating its ability to mobilise capital for equity participations, financial instruments, and strategic financing solutions.</p><p>“Alpha 1 embodies our strategy to develop regulated instruments that promote the efficient allocation of resources, support business growth, and actively contribute to the maturity of the Angolan capital markets,” the asset management company stated in an official publication.</p><p>The launch of Kassai Capital SGOIC was announced by London-based Gemcorp on 12 February 2025, with the objective of mobilising domestic and international resources to finance Angola’s robust economic growth.</p><p>The formal capitalisation of BNI by Kassai, amounting to Kz 50 billion (approximately USD 54.1 million), took place in November last year during the official presentation event of the asset management company. BNI Europa, owned by BNI Angola, remains for sale following several unsuccessful attempts to conclude a transaction.</p><p>&nbsp;</p>
